After blocking Democratic attempts to raise the minimum wage three times in a row, the Republicans have now not only demanded a repeal of the $300 billion estate tax investment (which sources say affects anywhere from .5% to 2% of the population) to accept the raise, but they also want to allow employers to pay less than minimum wage to employees who make a living off of tips. Estimates say that this would reduce the pay of restaurant workers and other service employees by approximately $3.00 an hour.
