GOP candidates turn down yet another minority debate. This while the Dems have already had a Spanish language debate, a gay rights sponsored debate, and have scheduled a black voter debate. This about sums it up:
"There is a pattern here," Smiley told the Huffington Post. "When you tell every black and brown request that you get throughout the primary process that 'no, there's a scheduling problem.' That's a pattern... Are we really supposed to believe that all four of these guys couldn't make it because of scheduling?"
The Republican frontrunners' snubbing of Smiley and PBS comes on the heels of their rejection of a debate sponsored by the Spanish-language network Univision (McCain was the only GOP candidate to accept that invitation).
From these reports you would think that a large percentage of GOP voters must just be racist hicks. You know, the types who would get offended by their nominee attending. Why else would they be so scared of going? Or it could just be that their responses would prove that their party could give a rat's ass about minorities.
Republicans. Go figure.
