Millions of Californians are expected to vote in less than a week because of mail-in ballots. It's expected that 44% of registered Californians (16 million people) will vote by mail prior to the Feb. 5th primary, with a large number of those votes coming next week when ballots first come out.
What you can do:
1) Step 1 is to make sure that you and you're friends have registered to vote. Click here, or on the the link at the top of the page to get started.
2) Next, start talking to your friends. To do this effectively learn the issues well. The Top Ten Reasons to Vote for Obama List on this site is a good place to learn several important points as to why Obama is the best choice among the Democratic candidates. Or click on these links to see a list of posts that have been written on this site regarding both Hillary Clinton and John Edwards. Browse through the posts to understand the problems that these candidates pose.
3) Finally, sign up to volunteer with the Obama campaign by clicking here. They will help direct you to ways you can volunteer, whether it be as simple as licking stamps or as active as going door-to-door.
Get involved! Obama won Iowa because thousands of new voters got the message from friends, relatives and others. Remember, if we left things up to the main-stream media this race would have been over in September when Clinton had a huge lead. Plus, once Obama becomes president your activism will leave you that much more entitled to have him keep his word. He is the only candidate to have raised as much as Clinton and to have done so primarily through small donations from grass-roots activists. And if he doesn't stay true to his word once in office, he'll have a hell of a lot of us to answer to. So, get going!
