Big Victory on Super Tuesday!

SUPER TUESDAY!

We had anticipated that a 100 delegate loss would have put us in great shape to compete, but the numbers show that we actually won not only more states, 13 compared to Clinton's 8, (NM still pending) but we also won the delegate race as well! That leaves us 28 pledged delegates ahead. The next two weeks (up till Feb. 19th) there are 596 delegates up for grabs, these will be favorable--though not easy--states and it would be ideal if we could take a 100 pledged delegate lead by the time these are over with. That means that we would need to get 72 delegates out of the 596, so average wins with a 12 percent margin would be what it would take (something like 56 to 44). While we might be able to do that in some contests, I don't see anyways we could do it across the board to take such a strong lead. Perhaps one or two blowouts in the caucuses could help us get there such that if we had a narrow loss or tie in there, we'd still be ok. But it won't be easy, as Virginia will be hotly contested with the new funds the Clintons have coming their way. I stress the need to win big in these states because it would give us some wiggle room for potential losses in Texas and Ohio, which account for close to 400 delegates on their own. And then after some other small states we get to Pennsylvania which accounts for another 188 delegates in April. All three big states bode well for Hillary, but I don't think any should be a gimme since we'll have plenty of time to spend all our energy in them campaigning. The path to the nomination will come if we can hit hard these upcoming weeks. Then pull an upset in one of either Ohio, Pennsylvania and/or Texas and consequently not lose big in the other two. I think that that would allow us to hold on to a lead not too far off form 100 delegates, whereby we'd have to win some of the remaining small states to shore it up to at around 100. If we can get that magic number of a 100 delegate lead going into the convention, it would be very hard for them to be able to take it out from under us through either super delegates and or Florida/Michigan. A recontested effort in those states could be fair though. But for now let's enjoy SUPER TUESDAY!

And everyone, be ready to keep the energy level just the same. We need to keep donating, making calls, talking to friends, and getting out the vote. There is a long way to go, but at least we now know just what we have to do to get there.

Yeah, not bad huh? There's still a long way to go, but a strong few weeks could help us tear away that Super Delegate advantage and encourage other Super Delegates to join us.
