Richardson is only the second former primary candidate to have endorsed so far--the other being Chris Dodd who also endorsed Barack. The fact that he was Bill Clinton's former U.N. Ambassador and Energy Secretary should get some talk in the press. I mean, after all, he saw the Clintons work from up close and still believes that Obama would make the better President, right? Plus, Richardson is famous for his work as a negotiator, having (as the A.P. reports) been "a roving diplomatic troubleshooter when he was a congressman from New Mexico, negotiating the release of U.S. hostages in several countries and meeting with a rogue's gallery of U.S. adversaries, including Saddam Hussein and Fidel Castro." Having met with major political rivals of the U.S. he is someone who obviously has the authority to comment on the worthiness of Obama's willingness to change the current Bush-McCain-Clinton policy of not talking to leaders we don't like. Now we need John Edwards, Al Gore, Joe Biden, and the rest of the party to get behind Barack so we can move on to McBush.
