From Jonathan Martin's Blog at the Politico:
My colleague Lisa Lerer has the tally:
McCain political director Mike DuHaime laid out the voter contact stats on this morning's conference call.Let's get to work folks!
The campaign and the RNC have spent $325 million since the convention – the most money every spent in a two month period in Republican Party history.
To date, the GOP has contacted 24 million voters. DuHaime expects they’ll reach 17 million more over the next four days. Yesterday alone, volunteers and aides contacted 1.3 million voters.
In the last week they’ve contacted 5.3 million persuadable and committed McCain voters. That’s four million more than Republicans reached in 2004 – a race DuHaime called the “gold standard” for turnout. Overall, it’s a 64% increase in direct voter contacts compared to the last 15 weeks of the 2004 race, he said.
