Clintons Intentionally Trying to Make the Primaries about Gender vs. Race

Either Bill Clinton is an idiot or he's a scumbag. Quoting Bill:

“I think it would be just as much a change, and some people think more, to have the first woman president as to have the first African-American president,” he said.

This is the same message that Hillary was trying to spread in New Hampshire. Ever since then they have been trying to reframe the discussion of change by pretending as though Obama's message of change has been about getting a black guy elected President versus any actual policy issues. By doing so, they can then make idiotic assertions like the one above, implicitly acting as though they are responding to an imaginary Obama claim that what is meant by change is his race and not policy differences. Actually, I'm surprised more attention has not been paid to this.
