Electability matters. From CNN:
Obama 52 McCain 44 (+8)
Clinton 50 McCain 47 (+3)
The poll was conducted by telephone from February 1-3, 2008. And just for the record, over the past month and a half I have not seen one poll where Obama has not fared better in matchups versus McCain than Clinton has (here's an example from late December).

UPDATE: Rasumussen also shows Obama with a huge edge over Clinton when matched up versus McCain. Obama and McCain are tied in this poll (+0), while McCain beats Clinton 47 to 39 (-8). Even with these numbers consistently in Obama's favor, exit polls say that people mistakenly think that Clinton is more electable than Obama.
UPDATE 2: Cook/RT comes out with a poll today again confirming numbers that have been consistent for close to two months now. In general election match ups, McCain leads Clinton by 4 points, 45 to 41 percent (-4); Obama leads McCain by two points, 45 to 43 percent (+2).
Electability, electability, electability!
